Data Acquisition |
Competency Statement: Acquire and analyze the necessary data for optimizing reservoir surveillance.
Learning Objective: Upon completion of this module, the participant should be able to acquire and analyze pressure data, PVT reports, production records, injection records, production tests, fluid sampling, injectivity tests, and other information for the purpose of monitoring reservoir behavior.
Assignment Instruction: Reservoir surveillance is a process of identifying,
gathering and interpreting the information needed to
effectively manage the reservoir and maximize economic
hydrocarbon recovery. This process become more and more
critical as a field passes through the various phases of
primary, secondary and enhanced recovery.
In this assignment, you will plan a data acquisition program for the Upper/Middle Sands that includes the following elements:
By the time you complete this assignment, you should be able to acquire and analyze pressure data, PVT reports, production records, injection records, production tests, fluid sampling, injectivity tests, and other information for the purpose of monitoring reservoir behavior. The exploration/appraisal program for this reservoir is currently in its third year. So far, four wells have been drilled: 4E1-NE, 5C1-SW (suspended), 2A5-NE and 5A1-SW. |
